About us

A season-ticket argument in the upper bowl that turned into a platform.

Built in the bleachers

Daytona Beach started as an argument. Four of us had a season-ticket block in the upper bowl at the arena in Edmonton, and every intermission turned into the same debate about whether the fantasy platforms we were using actually rewarded knowing the sport. They did not. They rewarded whoever had the patience to sit through an interstitial ad and a salary-cap solver.

So we built the version we wanted. No cap solver, no ad tags, no interstitials. Six slots, a clear scoring table and a board that settles the moment the last horn sounds. The first version ran on a laptop in a condo off 170 Street and had eleven users, most of whom were related to somebody on the project.

Four seasons later there are more than twelve thousand active players across ten provinces, and the office is a suite at West Edmonton Mall rather than a kitchen table. The rule we set at the start has not moved: if a feature does not help you read the ice better, it does not ship.

What we will not do

We do not run wagering products. There is no sportsbook here, no odds board and no house taking a rake on your entry. Fantasy hockey on this platform is a contest of skill against other managers, and we would rather stay a smaller business than blur that line.

We do not sell your contact details. Marketing companies ask, regularly, and the answer has been no every time. Your email is for account alerts and support tickets, full stop.

We do not chase engagement metrics. There are no streak counters designed to make you feel bad for missing a night, no push notifications engineered to pull you back at eleven in the evening. If you want a break, the support desk locks your profile the day you ask and does not argue about it.

The crew

Twelve people, all in Edmonton. Four on the data engine, three on the front end, two on support, one on compliance, two who insist their job title is "hockey opinions".
