Reading the live board
The arena refreshes every twenty seconds during a game. That cadence is deliberate: fast enough that a goal shows up before the replay ends, slow enough that we never hammer the data provider and risk a stale feed on a busy Saturday slate.
Each entry expands into a shift-level breakdown. You can see which of your skaters is on the ice, how many shots they have taken and where the projection now sits against your opening estimate. When a goaltender gets pulled, the row greys out immediately so you are not staring at a number that stopped moving.
Feeds do occasionally lag. If a goal is credited and then reassigned to a different scorer twenty minutes later, our engine reprocesses the board and the standings shift. That is normal, it happens perhaps twice a month, and the final settlement always uses the corrected event log rather than the first version you saw on screen.
